Welcome to Live Well Plan Well PDF Print E-mail

The Iowa Insurance Division and the Iowa Department on Aging invite you to join us at any or all of the Live Well Plan Well seminar series events scheduled throughout Iowa this summer and fall. Our first seminar launch event was on June 17 in Altoona. Coach and Olympic Gold Medalist Dan Gable provided the keynote address, along with guest speakers Mollie Cooney, KCCI-TV’s health reporter and anchor and Dr. Robert Bender from the Johnny Orr Memory Center.

Our focus is on consumer and financial protection and education for older Iowans. Sessions are scheduled to include: Fighting Financial Fraud; Advance Directives for Health Care Decisions; Choosing Facility-based Care; and Accessing Services to Stay at Home.

We are jointly undertaking the Live Well Plan Well educational series because each of our agencies recognizes that older Iowans are the most financially vulnerable segment of our state’s population. Iowans want to remain independent and healthy as they age, and we know individuals and families will always make better decisions if they are aware of the potential needs and the tools available to them when assessing their future.

The Live Well Plan Well seminar series is scheduled for 18 additional locations through September 21, 2010 along with an ending capstone event on October 6, 2010. More information will be forthcoming closer to each event. CLICK HERE for the full event schedule.

Local organizations and agencies will be invited to make resource and educational information and materials available at each community event. There is no cost to attend the seminar series. Lunch will be provided and the Live Well Plan Well events are open to the public.
We look forward to you joining other Iowans at an event close to your own community. Please let others know about the Live Well Plan Well series, and feel free to link to our website, http://www.LiveWellPlanWell.org. If you have questions, please feel free to contact us.
Sincerely,

Susan E. Voss
